HCASSC firmly believes that quality education is a fundamental human right and the most powerful tool for breaking the cycle of poverty and displacement. Our education programme operates across all seven of our country offices, serving children and youth in some of the most challenging contexts in West and Southern Africa.
We work to ensure that no child misses out on education due to displacement, poverty, or geographic isolation.
Our Education Activities
School Rebuilding & Rehabilitation
Reconstructing and rehabilitating schools damaged by conflict, flooding, or neglect, making them safe and functional for learning.
School Supplies & Materials
Distributing textbooks, stationery, school bags, and uniforms to students from the most vulnerable families.
Teacher Training
Providing professional development workshops and continued support for teachers in remote and conflict-affected areas.
Scholarship Support
Awarding scholarships and bursaries to brilliant but disadvantaged students to continue their education beyond primary level.
Accelerated Learning Programmes
Fast-track literacy and numeracy programmes for older children and youth who missed years of schooling due to displacement.
Child-Friendly Spaces
Safe, structured spaces for children in emergency settings where they can learn, play, and heal from trauma.
